AMS Taps Garner For European Presidency, Introduces Styling Options At NAMA Expo

KEARNEYSVILLE, WV — Automated Merchandising Systems has announced the appointment of Colin Garner as president of AMS Europe Ltd. He comes to AMS from Automatic Products international, ltd., where he was senior vice-presdent of sales and marketing in charge of global operations.

In his new post, Garner will oversee Automated Merchandising Systems’ overseas marketing and sales activities, in Europe and beyond. He will headquarter in Wolverhampton, England, in the West Midlands of which he is a native and where he served his five-year apprenticeship to earn qualification as an engineer. He went on to attain a four-year business degree as well.

Garner has been appointed president for Europe, and will be returning to his native West Midlands in England to direct the expanding overseas sales efforts. He joins AMS from Automatic Products international, ltd., where he held posts in the UK and the U.S., and earlier had served with the Sankey organization in Britain.

Garner joined APi in the United Kingdom 21 years ago, following service with Sankey Vending, a leading manufacturer of vending machines. He was assigned to APi headquarters in St. Paul, MN, nine years ago.

AMS welcomed the industry veteran aboard at its exhibit during the National Automatic Merchandising Association National Expo in Orlando last month.

On display in the booth were two new styling options The “Executive Look” offers a black-and-silver color scheme, and the “Elite” modification adds curved display areas above and below the front-panel glass, convex toward the patron and engineered to show off merchandising graphics to best advantage.

Operators visiting the exhibit had the opportunity to view the entire AMS line, including the original Sensit Snack unit, the Visi-Combo snack and beverage vender, Visi-Diner for refrigerated food, The Milk Machine and the Bottle & Food Combo, all available in 35- and 39-in. widths, plus The Outsider, a weather- and vandal-proof 39-in.-wide modification optimized for outdoor sites. This 39-in.-wide variant is offered for the Sensit Snack and Visi-Combo.

Also on display was the “HealthyVend”-styled Bottle & Food Combo, designed for locations like schools to help operators merchandise fruits and vegetables, dairy and other nutritious cold drinks, cheese and cereal bars, and other items that fit into “healthier food” guidelines. Like conventional Bottle & Food Combo machines, “HealthyVend” is offered in 35- and 39-in. widths.

Information on AMS vending equipment can be had by visiting the company’s website, amsvendors.com, or by calling (304) 725-6921.
