MONTREAL -- AnywhereCommerce's mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) Walker device has been approved for use with Visa cards by the Visa Ready Partner Program. The Visa program identifies technologies that can handle growing global demand for mobile commerce technology, and those that are appropriate for use on its network.
The Walker appliance supports both EMV chip-and-signature and magnetic-stripe payments. The device is approved for EMV L1 and L2, and employs AnywhereCommerce's audio-jack-attachable technology that transforms smartphones and other mobile devices into secure mobile point-of-sale solutions. Walker is compatible with iOS, Android, and the Windows Phone 8 operating systems.
Walker is one of several AnywhereCommerce appliances that enable smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices to operate as a secure mobile POS terminal. Earlier this year, the company released its mobile chip and PIN Nomad 1.0, which was one of the first devices approved in the Visa Ready Partner Program.
