FAIRFIELD, NJ -- New from Rickland Orchards is a line of six 1.4-oz. bars formulated with granola and real fruit dipped in authentic strained Greek yogurt imported from Europe. According to the manufacturer, this is the first product to offer consumers Greek yogurt in the form of a shelf-stable bar.
Offered in blueberry Açai, cherry almond, toasted coconut, cranberry almond, apple & honey and orchard peach varieties, Rickland Greek Yogurt Bars are said to contain all natural ingredients and to provide 5g. of fiber, 7g. of protein and probiotics.
The bars have been well received at retail in the three months since their launch, the company reports. They have a suggested retail price of $1.49 to $1.79.
Greek (strained) yogurt is a current consumer favorite, with total sales for 2012 estimated at more than $2 billion (up from $35.4 million in 2007). Rickland Orchards has striven to stay ahead of the curve by developing nontraditional ways in which the popular probiotic product can be enjoyed.
