SAN FRANCISCO -- Now available for Ecast's large- screen EQ jukebox is an application that enables music operators and location managers to create their own professional-looking ads and promotional messages. Called Posters, the new Web tool offers a wide variety of pre-designed templates that can be customized by typing in any promotional message. Themes range from chalkboard and beer to music and jukeboxes. Authorized users from a vending company or location log into an online account to create a "poster" that appears in the top zone on EQ's 40" portrait screen.

The result is a visually attractive, high-definition promotional ad that gets delivered with a mouse-click to a location's EQ unit, Ecast said. Bill Clark of Digital Systems, a jukebox operation in Washington state, reported that the new tool provides locations with an easy way to tell customers about menu specials and upcoming events. "One location advertised a customer's electrical business in exchange for some necessary work in his bar," he said.

Posters was developed by LocaModa Inc., an interactive media company best known for Waffiti, a wireless technology that allows patrons send real-time messages from their mobile phones to digital screens. The EQ supports Wiffitti text messaging, among other value-added applications designed to bring extra revenue to operators. "Posters gives operators the power to grow their business by selling ad space to promote nearby businesses and services," Ecast said.

The Ecast EQ is now available with 0% financing through the end of the year. The novel wall-mount jukebox with large, vertical touchscreen display was unveiled a year ago at the Amusement and Music Operators Association's 2008 Expo (see story here). Ecast exhibited the box with an enhanced user interface at this year's AMOA Expo.
