PORTLAND, OR -- Thousands of coffee professionals from more than 40 countries will converge on Portland, OR, to discover the latest trends and products and new ways to deliver a better experience for coffee drinkers. The Specialty Coffee Association of America's 24th annual exposition will be held April 19-22 at the Oregon Convention Center here.
Last year's event hosted more than 8,000 coffee professionals, with a trade show featuring more than 700 exhibitor booths, and this year is on track to draw similar crowds. On display will be green and roasted specialty coffee, espresso machines and grinders, roasting equipment, brewing machines, coffee drinks and mixes, flavorings and syrups, chocolate and cocoa products, baked goods and more.
A series of hands-on skill-building workshops will focus on preparing coffee to SCAA standards and protocols, the coffee business, roasting, coffee science and technology.
A comprehensive agenda is available online.
During SCAA's 4th annual Symposium, held immediately prior to the exposition on April 18 and19, executives and coffee professionals from around the world will convene to address issues relating to quality and sustainability.
SCAA is the world's largest coffee trade association with nearly 5,000 members, representing every segment of the specialty coffee industry, including producers, roasters, importers/exporters, retailers, manufacturers, baristas and coffee enthusiasts.
The SCAA annual convention will move to Boston next year and Seattle in 2014 and 2015.
