MURRIETA, CA -- E.E. URD Design & Manufacturing reports that Global Vending Oy (Vantaa, Finland) has chosen its standard 12V. gearmotors for use in a new snack machine designed specifically to accept mobile payments. Global Vending's Snaxiboxi equipment is distributed primarily in Scandinavian countries.
Each of the new machines will be fitted with 12 of the E.E. URD gearmotors, a popular design that has found application not only in vending machines, but also in document handling, industrial control, agricultural and medical equipment as well as instrumentation.
"Finland is considered one of the most advanced information and communications technology countries in the world," said Jarkko Juho, president of Global Vending Oy. For this reason, he added, it is a very good place to develop vending machines with mobile phone billing capabilities.
"It's difficult to find quality suppliers in Finland, so we're glad to have found E.E. URD," Juho explained. "They provide us with exceptional customer service and extremely reliable products at a very affordable price. Most vendors don't seem to care about the details, like reliable deliveries, but E.E. URD is always right on top of things."
E.E. URD is supplying its standard gearmotor with 6.5mm. square-pattern shaft couplings. The motor's 8,000 g/cm load rating ensures reliable product delivery, according to Ian Sultan, chief operating officer of E.E. URD.
"Our gearmotor assembly method is patented, which allows for a smoother, far more accurate gear interface and a longer life expectancy," he stated. "We use variant nylon plastics with special additives, so our gearmotors are far quieter than our competition." Moreover, he noted, the motors operate over a wide range of temperatures, which is an important attribute in Scandinavian countries with their pleasant summers and frosty winters.
E.E. URD gearmotors can be customized for electrical termination, output shaft type and material, "through-hole" pattern and cover assembly. They are available for 12V. or 24V. operation, and offer reversible motor direction.
Founded in 1975, E.E. URD offers design-to-delivery services for current sensors, electronic PCB assembly, membrane key switches and silicone rubber keypads, power factor-correcting power supplies, LCD modules, tooling, injection molding and plastic assemblies, metal fabrication, wire and cable assemblies -- and vending machine gearmotors.
