SPRINGFIELD, IL -- Scientific Games Corp. announced on Jan. 3 that it had signed a contract to design, implement and administer its sixth generation AEGIS-Video Central Communication System to administer video lottery terminals in Illinois.
The contract, issued by the Illinois Gaming Board, calls for SciGames to provide real-time communication and control between every licensed gaming terminal in the state, as well as day-to-day management of the operation of the CCS and service statewide.
The contract was awarded through a competitive procurement process, has an initial term of six years and may be extended by mutual agreement up to four additional years.
SciGames video gaming vice-president Brennen Lawrence said Illinois could grow to be the largest video gaming network in the country with the potential for up to 60,000 terminals.
As reported by VT, Illinois will pay SciGames almost $66.9 million over the first four years of the contract. That figure is based on 0.7275% of estimated net terminal income during the term. | SEE STORY
