COURT SAYS NO RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST GLOBAL VR
SAN JOSE, CA - (Posted Feb. 27) Global VR president Milind Bharvirkar said his company was "pleased but not surprised" by a court ruling favorable to GVR in the legal dispute over copyright issues with Incredible Technologies. According to GVR, the court on Feb. 25 ruled against IT's request for a temporary restraining order to prevent GVR from manufacturing, marketing or advertising "EA Sports PGA Tour." A new release from GVR stated that the court "denied IT's motion, holding that IT had failed to show a likelihood that it would prevail on its claims." Bharvirkar reiterated his belief that "We firmly believe that IT's claims have no merit and are intended solely to distract and confuse our customers and the industry. We will continue to manufacture and supply our customers with the highest quality, most innovative products in the industry." The court involved is the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. At press time there was no comment from IT on the development.
