Pepsi Beverages Closes On California Bottler

SOMERS, NY -- Pepsi Beverages Co., a division of PepsiCo Inc., has completed its acquisition of Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Yuba City Inc. The Sacramento area company is a Pepsi-Cola franchised bottler serving parts of northern California. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The transaction was previously announced by Pepsi Bottling Group, which PepsiCo purchased along with bottler PepsiAmericas in a $7.8 billion deal in February, forming the new Pepsi Beverages Co. The companies are PepsiCo's two largest North American bottlers. The strategy behind Pepsi Beverages is to build scale and efficiency in a company-owned bottling operation.
PBC is PepsiCo's beverage manufacturing, sales and distribution operating unit in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Headquartered in New York's Westchester County, it handles approximately 75% of PepsiCo's North American beverage volume. In many markets, PBC also manufactures or distributes non-Pepsi brands, including Dr Pepper, Crush, Rockstar and Muscle Milk.
