ATLANTA -- Moneyhorse Games LLC is claiming to be developing a game featuring North Korean despot Kim Jong-un as its central character. Although some are claiming the game is a hoax, the mysterious Atlanta-based company seems to be standing by its claims that the game is for real.

Called Glorious Leader!, previews released online show a side-scrolling old-style "run-n-gun" videogame in which North Korea's portly ruler declares war on the United States to "destroy the capitalist swine." Along with unicorns and dolphins, North Korea apologist Dennis Rodman makes an appearance in the game. According to interviews given by company officials, the game is intended as satire aimed at capturing the trend to "antique" or retro arcade games popular with the 20- and 30-year-olds. The game is said to be designed for handheld Android-based devices.

Whether the game, as well as Moneyhorse, is an honest endeavor remains to be seen. Some in the media have speculated that it is part of an elaborate hoax. The company's website, Twitter account and Facebook page have only been recently activated.

The government of North Korea has not commented on the game, which is supposedly slated for release late in 2014.
