SAN DIEGO -- Fresh Healthy Vending International Inc. franchisees now have the option to install AirVend's cashless touchscreen devices on their machines through a new partnership between the two companies.
AirVend's retrofittable Android-based POS hardware displays nutritional information for each product inside the machine, accepts cashless payment and provides vending machine owners with real-time sales information and inventory data.
With the option to add AirVend to FHV combo machines, franchisees can also give consumers the option to contact them with comments or issues through a digital contact form, as well as pay with a digital coupon or QR code. AirVend also offers advertising options that can be customized by location.
FHV also sees AirVend as an added selling tool for school business.
"Now our franchisees can add the point-of-sale device to machines being delivered [under] new school contracts secured by Fresh Healthy Vending, ensuring they are always abiding by the new U.S. Department of Agriculture guidelines and allowing them to benefit from the many features the technology provides," said FHV chief executive Alex Kennedy.
The USDA's new nutrition Smart Snacks In Schools standards that go into effect July 1 require schools to sell only food items that meet certain requirements for calories, and ingredients including sodium, fat and sugar.
