DALLAS -- The Dave and Buster's chain, coming off an upbeat first quarter, promptly suffered some headaches in June involving liquor licenses.

The Honolulu Liquor Commission fined Dave and Buster's $2,000 for serving alcohol to a minor, the second liquor violation at the store since 2009.

A Dave & Buster's store in Maple Grove, MN, was fined for a similar offense on June 20 that occurred on May 18, according to the results of a compliance check by local police that targeted local businesses. The Maple Grove City Council fined Dave & Buster's $2,000 and suspended its liquor license for two days for the company's first liquor violation in the town.

In Burlington, VT, the Planning Board voted 6-1 to deny the local Dave & Buster's a special permit on June 16. The chain had sought to open a 40,000-sq.-ft. store. City officials cited several concerns with the possibility of underage drinking prominent among them.
