LAKE FOREST, IL -- Solo Foodservice has unveiled an array of additions to its popular food container lines.

Leading the lineup is a wider range of OctaView microwaveable containers. Featuring an eight-sided black base and a clear top, the OctaView design is part of Solo's Creative Carryouts product line.

The expanded OctaView line is suited to many hot and cold food applications, permits microwave reheating of prepared foods and offers a leak-resistant closure. Value-added features include a clear, anti-fog lid to spur impulse hot-food purchases, and a design that continues to vent steam even when securely stacked.

The one-piece packages are suitable for foods from the refrigerator up to 250°F., and are available in many popular sizes, including 6" deep and 6", 7.5"and 9" medium. They're designed to save time and labor for operators.

Also new is a line of compostable paper food containers, the latest entry in Solo Foodservice's Eco-Forward Bare portfolio. Formed of a PLA (polylactic acid)-based material, the new degradable containers are said to meet ASTM standards for compostable packaging and to have won approval from the Biodegradable Products Institute. They are offered in four sizes from 8 to 24 fl.oz. A wide variety of lids for hot and cold menu items is available.
