BACTA Hails Industry Response To New Amusement & Gaming Expo

LONDON -- The organizers of the new European Amusement & Gaming Expo report that 85% of its exhibit space already has been booked, an encouraging portent for its success. The first EAG Expo is set for the ExCel Exhibition Centre here from January 26 through 28, 2010.

The British Amusement Catering Trade Association expressed satisfaction at this strong show of support. "BACTA is absolutely delighted at the industry's response to EAG, which has been fantastic, not only in the number of companies that are involved but with the passion and commitment that they are showing to the event," said association president Neil Chinn. "If you want an event focused purely on the amusement and coin-op markets, EAG Expo will be a show not to miss."

With more than 70 amusement and coin-op suppliers already booked for the show, the exhibitor list includes the major UK-based suppliers, as well as strengthening representation from a wide range of other nations ranging from Australia and Taiwan to Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Switzerland.

Planning for the first-ever EAG Expo has shifted into high gear as the marketing and sales campaign enters its final phase. Event organizer Karen Cooke of Swan Events said, "There is a focus and energy to EAG that I have rarely witnessed in more than 18 years' involvement with exhibitions." The new show is being promoted in 35 countries.

Ian Pawson, sales director of leading equipment distributor AMG Leisure Ltd. (Melmerby, England) observed that "EAG will bring all sectors of our industry together under one roof. This should give our customers the confidence to visit, knowing they are not going to get lost amongst products and stands that have no relevance to their business."

The new trade show is the result of an alliance between BACTA and InterGame Ltd. (Oldham, England), which publishes InterGame magazine. InterGame previously had sponsored InterGame Expo, held in London last January. InterGame's David Snook said that his company is encouraging the exhibitors at IGX to support the new EAG Expo.

Among novel features of the first-ever EAG Expo will be special pavilions for manufacturers and "spares," each of which will contain booths of equal size, conveniently arranged around a central lounge area.
