LAKE OZARK, MO -- The Resort at Port Arrowhead here will be the setting for a joint convention organized by the Mid-America Automatic Merchandising Association and the Missouri Wholesale Distributors Association. It's scheduled for June 11 through 13.
The program features a lively mixture of business and social events.
Friday, June 11, will feature a golf tournament starting at 11:30 a.m., to be held at the Bear Creek Valley Golf Club. Registration opens at 10:30 a.m., and the $100 registration charge includes greens fees, cart, lunch at 11 a.m., refreshments, golf balls and prizes.
Friday evening will feature a welcoming hospitality party durng which participants can bid on a variety of attractive prizes offered in a Silent Auction cosponsored by MAMA and MWDA. This gets under way at 6 p.m., followed by a buffet dinner and ice cream sundae bar at 7 p.m., and will culminate with an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the Silent Auction at 8 p.m. Babysitting will be available starting at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the Friday evening event cost $40.
Convention-goers will get down to business on Saturday morning following a breakfast buffet at 7 a.m. MAMA will hold a business meeting at 8:30 a.m. MWDA plans board of directors' and business meetings at 9 a.m. Tickets for the Saturday business breakfast cost $15; a ladies' breakfast gets under way at 9 a.m., and the ticket price is also $15.
A hospitality party is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday, and the combined convention will wrap up with a festive cocktail party at 6:30 p.m.
and casual dinner at 7 p.m.; the evening event's ticket costs $40.

Industry members planning to participate can take advantage of a special convention room rate at the Resort at Port Arrowhead if they make their reservations by May 11; it's important to request the MWDA rate to secure.
