CORONA, CA -- AVT Inc. has reported that it will
supply product-dispensing machines to two major
partners who have obtained a $100 million contract from
the New York City school system.
According to founder Shannon Illingworth, AVT is the
preferred vendor in this contract, and the technologies it
brings to the marketplace give it a significant competitive
edge.
Illingworth predicts that the AVT venders will generate
more money per machine than previous venders. The
new technology incorporated in the venders, including
a remote monitoring system that streams information
back to the operator, "is the foundation of our ability to
grow," he emphasized.
Plans call for the placement of nearly 500 units in the
first quarter of 2010, which makes the transaction the
largest traditional vending order ever placed with AVT.
The contract was obtained by Canteen Vending
(Compton, CA) and Answer Vending (Farmingdale,
NY). In October 2009, it was reported that independent
operators would replace Snapple in NYC schools
under stringent new nutrition guidelines. Read more
