MELROSE PARK, IL -- New from Stern Pinball is a flipper game based on Big Buck Hunter Pro, the popular arcade game developed by Raw Thrills (Skokie, IL) and Play Mechanix (Glenellyn, IL).
Highlights of the new piece include a motorized buck that runs across a forest-themed playfield; hitting this target several times starts the Big Buck multiball feature. Also noteworthy is a ramp winding around the playfield, an animated ram that kicks the ball back to the player and a mechanized elk that redirects the ball.
The Stern game was developed with input from a number of key Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix experts, including Eugene Jarvis, Mark Ritchie and George Petro. Petro, whose voice is familiar to Big Buck Hunter Pro arcade enthusiasts from his digitized narrations, also narrates the pinball implementation, and contributed original speech, as well. John Youssi, who created the artwork for the arcade game, contributed the graphics for the flipper game, too.
Stern Pinball founder Gary Stern observed, "The Big Buck Hunter series of videogames are proven winners. Our pinball complements any location with this videogame.
"These games have a strong following who will also love the pinball machine," Stern added. "This game is both fun and beautiful. The folks at Play Mechanix and Raw Thrills know pinball, and guided us through the Big Buck Hunter property."
George Petro of Play Mechanix agreed. "Big Buck Hunter Pro Pinball is fun for the hunter in everyone," he enthused.
The game is available from Stern Pinball distributors and retailers. Information may be found at sternpinball.com. The Big Buck Hunter arcade game series is described online at bigbuckhunter.com.
