LOS ANGELES -- Pac-Man, the signature title from Namco Bandai that helped establish coin-op videogames as a major industry 30 years ago, is slated to become the star of its own reality TV series according to Deadline Hollywood.

Apparently, Namco is licensing the title to Merv Griffin Entertainment, which will produce an unscripted TV program based on the iconic game.

"The idea we have is to take what Pac-Man is and bring it to life, to bring what is essentially the world's biggest game of tag to television," said MGE executive Roy Bank.

Pac-Man starred briefly in a cartoon TV series in the early 1980s.
