WATERBURY, VT -- Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. is rolling out Keurig K-Cup portion packs that create iced coffee or iced tea at the touch of a button.
The Brew Over Ice K-Cups are specifically designed to brew directly over ice with a Keurig Single-Cup Brewer. Green Mountain Coffee Nantucket Blend and French vanilla iced coffee K-Cups are both based on the popular hot versions of their namesakes, but are specially blended to provide full flavor when brewed into a cup of ice.
Also rolling out are two new Celestial Seasonings Perfect Iced Teas: half and half (part black tea, part lemonade) and Southern sweet tea. These new K-Cups join the four Perfect Iced Tea varieties introduced last summer: lemon, peach raspberry and unsweetened black tea.
To brew a fresh cup of iced coffee or tea, a consumer fills a 16-fl.oz. cup with ice and places it under a Keurig brewer, chooses the 6-fl.oz.or 8-fl.oz. button, depending on desired strength, and brews directly over ice. See a demonstration here.
Cream and sweetener can be added to iced coffee. Perfect Iced Teas are pre-sweetened with all-natural cane sugar and stevia and are ready to drink.
