MILFORD, CT -- A leading vending company here has expanded its equipment distribution services with the launch of Automated Services/Pinballs.com, providing amusement equipment sales and service throughout southern New England.

Automated Services was established in 1971, and has become a prominent provider of full-line vending, office coffee and pure water, and coin-operated amusements in the southern Connecticut market. The company also is a distributor of new and remanufactured vending equipment, and runs The Pinball Store (Orange, CT). This originally was established to serve the home entertainment market.

Mike Daddona Jr., who founded Automated Services, explained that growing demand by operators impelled him to offer The Pinball Store's services to the coin machine industry as well. Backed by the extensive warehousing capacity and service capabilities of Automated Services, the new distribution venture is a valuable resource for the region's amusement operators, he told VT.

Pinballs.com will be run from the organization's 7,000- sq.ft. showroom in Orange, which is situated above an 8,000-sq.ft. workshop. "We will also do repairs; we have many parts and the ability to turn some equipment around in 24 hours," the Automated Services owner explained.

Distribution also will be conducted from the company's 60,000-sq.ft. headquarters nearby, supported by an adjacent 5,000-sq.ft. game workshop. That facility is devoted to the repair of larger games and to "burning- in" games after they are repaired. Also in close proximity is a 16,000-sq.ft. storage site equipped with triple-shelf racks that warehouses new and used equipment -- everything from new "drivers" to bowling and gun games to (of course) pinball machines.

"One of the big advantages is that we stock so much new equipment that operators quite often can pick up a new machine the same day," Daddona pointed out. "And we stock plenty of countertops."

The Pinball Store is one of the world's largest resellers of new and used pinball machines, and other arcade games, to the home market. Daddona at one time owned part of TDM Distributing (Willimantic, CT) and was chairman of Derby Savings Bank, in which he had a stake. His new equipment dealership is expected to carry a digital jukebox line and will offer financing services.

Automated Services/Pinballs.com is based at 163 Boston Post Rd., Orange, CT 06477; tel. (866) 384-4263 or (203) 795-4440; fax (203) 799-2254. Daddona can be reached by calling (203) 877-0348 or emailing mfdaddonajr@aol.com.
