Marley Coffee And AVT Team Up For Branded Premium Coffee Venders

LOS ANGELES -- Marley Coffee Inc. and AVT Inc. have entered a licensing partnership through which the Corona, CA-based developer of automated retailing systems will create high-end Marley Coffee-branded specialty coffee vending machines.

Both companies seek to target college campuses, traditional retail locations, high-density traffic areas, theaters, hotels and traditional foodservice venues. They say the Marley Coffee machines will allow retailers to offer a coffeehouse experience to their customers and will give vending operators a discernible difference in coffee vending solutions.

Two of the AVT-developed Marley Coffee-branded vending machines will be unveiled at the National Automatic Merchandising Association's OneShow at the Venetian/Sands in Las Vegas, April 25-27. They'll be on display AVT booth No. 427 and Marley Coffee booth No. 447.

The futuristic machines, which can be previewed here, will be equipped with touchscreen displays and will grind whole-bean coffee and brew a wide range of specialty drinks, from a cup of black coffee to a latte or mocha beverage. Some models will have the capability to dispense other Marley products, like headphones, t-shirts, coffee mugs and bags of coffee, while others will be devoted to dispensing coffee.

Brent Toevs, chief executive of Los Angeles-based Marley Coffee, who has spent his whole career in vending, said AVT's machines are among the most sophisticated he's ever seen. "Automated retailing is great because it creates a smaller eco-foot print, which is one of the reasons why we partnered with AVT and their cutting-edge technology," he added.

AVT has created automated retail solutions for leading retail chains, including Walmart. Larger retailers are among the potential clients seeking new coffee services for their customers.

"Our movement continues to grow as so many share our values and desire great-tasting coffee and tea made the right way."

Rohan Marley and his sister, Karen Marley, will be at AVT’s NAMA OneShow booth on Thursday, April 26, showcasing the Marley Coffee-branded AVT machines. World Heavyweight Champion Lennox Lewis, who is a partner in the Jamaican division of Marley Coffee and longtime Marley Coffee ambassador, will be their special guest.
