| | New Concept Vending Unveils Antitheft Rotary Coin Mech CARY, NC (July 2007) — New Concept Vending has developed a coin mechanism engineered to deter theft. It is designed to replace the common molded-plastic rotary mechs widely used on countertop mechanical vending machines typically sold through business-opportunity channels. The mechanism was developed by company founder Richard A. Santilli Jr., who was operating a number of these machines. He discovered that many potentially lucrative accounts for equipment of this type are frequented by patrons who, increasingly, know a simple method for defeating the factory coin mechs.

BELLEVUE, WA (August 1, 2008) — Coinstar's nationwide coin- op crane, bulk vending and kiddie ride business continued to decline during the second quarter, despite strong performance in other divisions. For the three-month period ended June 30, the company reported that its bulk vending and "other" installations, which includes kiddie rides, fell 33% from 205,000 in the first quarter to 138,000, while its skill crane placement dropped 8% from 25,000 to 23,000… [full story]
