The company said modernizing and expanding its Montreal plant will allow it to increase its production capacity, and remain a "prime manufacturing hub" in GMCR's North American network.
GMCR Canada will upgrade its roasting facilities, add high-performance packaging lines, renovate its green coffee infrastructure and expand its traditional production portfolio to include new beverages for Keurig brewers.
Part of the funding will be provided by the Quebec government, which has reportedly approved a $5 million non-repayable financial contribution to GMCR Canada for the project.
GMCR Canada Holding Inc.'s Canadian office is located in Montreal. It has three roasting plants in the country -- two in Montreal and the other in Toronto.
