CORONA, CA -- AVT Inc.'s second-generation Marley Coffee vending machine is up and running at the high-profile Westwood Pavilion mall in Los Angeles.

Marketed under the name 360 Marley Coffee Automated Kiosk, the machine features 15 varieties of freshly ground and brewed gourmet coffee, espresso, mocha and cappuccino and a state-of-the-art touchscreen display. It is located in a prime area of the mall between Nordstrom and the Landmark Theater.

The Marley machines are manufactured and marketed by Corona, CA-based AVT under an exclusive arrangement with Marley Coffee parent Jammin Java.

The second-generation machine features an online portal that allows operators to be connected to their machines to oversee sales, inventory, customer awareness and pricing.

AVT claims it has begun shipping its new machines to colleges and universities throughout the U.S. -- including the bookstore at South Carolina University -- through a deal with Neebo, which operates bookstores on more than 200 campuses throughout the country.

Marley Coffee machines are also in General Growth Properties, Simon Properties, and Rouse Properties locations, which AVT said will help pave the way for Marley systems into malls and other high-traffic properties throughout the U.S.

It has established three new distributorships in key U.S. markets.

The company said its advertising revenue-sharing program gives its partners 20% of the income generated from national ad campaigns on its machines.

Marley Coffee Stores' sales and marketing vice-president, Joe Menichiello, predicted that the new vending machine could become the Redbox of the coffee world.
