CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association has announced the addition of a panel session on micromarket operations to the educational curriculum at the upcoming Coffee, Tea & Water conference. The event is set for the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, TN, Nov. 12-14.
The micromarket panel will be moderated by Vistar sales and marketing vice-president Terry Touchton, who will review the hot and iced beverage options presently available to operators of micromarkets. His panelists will consist of micromarket operators, who will describe their experiences and field audience questions.
NAMA noted that a study conducted earlier this year by Bachtelle & Associates found that micromarket installations in the U.S. increased by 170% from 2011 to 2012, and projected that there will be 35,000 micromarkets on location within a decade. | SEE STORY
"Micromarket operators have said that managing the hot and iced beverage program is one of their biggest challenges," said Roger Stewart, NAMA's director of coffee and water service. "I think this panel is beneficial for operators who have micromarkets, as well as anyone interested in this new revenue opportunity."
Stewart added that NAMA has made a substantial commitment to micromarkets. Not only was the topic explored thoroughly at this year's OneShow, but a series of micromarket operational seminars is rolling out across the country. The fourth of these will be held in Las Vegas on Jan. 23-24 at the Mandalay Bay hotel.
This year's NAMA Coffee, Tea & Water conference again will be collocated with the International Bottled Water Association's Annual Business Conference and Trade Show (Nov. 11-15).
