AMI End of Year Jukebox Stats: Jason Aldean, LMFAO and Toby Keith Among Popular Artists

Source: AMI Entertainment Network | December 20, 2012
(12/19/2012)

Bristol, PA, December 20, 2012 -- AMI Entertainment Network is pleased to announced its year-end list of the most popular albums and songs on its digital jukebox network. AMI's jukeboxes are a hit with customers from every demographic, thanks to a massive music library that spans every genre of current and classic music. This year's lists represent a broad cross-section of popular music, covering both timeless favorites and chart-topping newcomers.

The most popular songs played on AMI's network in 2012 came from a variety of different genres, including country, pop, electronica, and classic rock. However, the honor of this year's most-played song goes to country sensation Jason Aldean and his "Dirt Road Anthem," from his hit album My Kinda Party. Nickelback's "Rockstar" came in at No. 2, followed by Eric Church's "Drink in My Hand" at No. 3. Party-rockers LMFAO ("Sexy And I Know It") and country star Toby Keith ("I Love This Bar") helped round out the top 5.

A number of new artists and albums also burst onto the music scene (and onto AMI jukeboxes) in 2012. The hottest new album on AMI's network in 2012 was fun.'s Some Nights, featuring the hit singles "We Are Young," "Some Nights," and "Carry On." Other albums that topped the list of AMI's most-played new albums were Tyga's Careless World: Rise of the New King, Skrillex's Bangarang EP, and Flo Rida's Wild Ones. Despite coming out relatively late in the year, K-Pop star Psy's "Gangnam Style" also made an appearance in the top 10 new albums at No. 8.

Although current artists like Eric Church and Jason Aldean featured prominently in the overall list of most popular albums, it was classic country star Johnny Cash who came out on top. The legendary country star's career-spanning 1999 album 16 Biggest Hits, released by Sony Records, secured the No. 1 spot on 2012's list of most-played albums.

AMI is also pleased to announce the availability of its Holiday Playlist, featuring a blizzard of holiday favorites perfect for any party or snowbound winter get-together. The playlist provides the perfect soundtrack to the holiday season, whether your tastes run to rock, pop, country, or golden oldies. From modern hits like Rihanna's "It Just Don't Feel Like Xmas" and Blake Shelton's "The Very Best Time of Year" to classics like Burl Ives's "A Holly Jolly Christmas," AMI's Holiday Playlist is sure to keep any holiday party rocking 'til Santa comes.
