JAKARTA, Indonesia -- Strong demand for Speed of Light and Mega Stacker has prompted LAI Games to increase its factory output. The amusement company said it has made a half-million-dollar investment to enhance production capacity at its main factory here.

New production tools include CNC laser cutting and punching equipment, which is expected to increase steel-sheet cutting by 25% at the 100,000-sq.ft. Jakarta factory.

"With four CNC machines now running in parallel, our factory is well positioned to take advantage of the strong demand for our current lineup of games," said LAI chief executive Marshall Ashdown. "Using the latest machinery and production techniques keeps our pricing competitive, maintains consistent quality and shortens delivery lead."

LAI Games is a unit of Leisure and Allied Industries, founded in 1958 by Malcolm Steinberg in Perth, Australia. The division develops, manufactures and sells its equipment to distributors, operators and entertainment centers around the world. It maintains a U.S. office in Dallas.
