USPTO Assigns Jukebox-Game Combo Patent To AMI

BRISTOL, PA -- The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Jan. 15 assigned patent No. 8,353,758 to AMI Entertainment Network. The patent covers an "amusement device having electronic game and jukebox functionalities."

The USPTO's abstract described the patent as covering an amusement device with a display, and including a touchscreen, an audio output and input component, where a common controller is configured to select and play at least one electronic game and to select and retrieve for playing a music data set from a plurality of music data sets. The patent also covers optional simultaneous music and gameplay, along with cross-promotional rewards between the music and game functionalities, and the possibility of music content driving game content.
