LISLE, IL -- The American Amusement Machine Association bestowed its esteemed Joe Robbins Award on Bay Tek's Holly Meidl during its annual meeting in early August. The Joe Robbins Award is AAMA's highest honor, named in memory of the industry pioneer who played a leading role in forming the association in 1981. Meidl, who is AAMA's assistant secretary, was praised for her enthusiastic dedication to the amusement business.

presented by, from left, AAMA's John Schultz, Pete Gustafson and John Margold.

Meidl joined Bay Tek Games some 12 years ago and currently holds the post of director of marketing. As a volunteer executive at AAMA, she's been involved on several committees and has been a driving force behind its charitable foundation. She is the first woman to serve on AAMA's executive board.

"Holly has a lot of passion for what she does," said John Margold, AAMA's past president. "Nominating her made absolute sense to me."

Bay Tek Games, founded in 1977, is a family owned and operated business specializing in ticket and prize redemption amusement equipment sold through distributors around the world. This year, the Pulaski, WI-based manufacturer introduced nine new products.

AAMA presented its new Shining Star award to board member Sondra Doyle of Sureshot Redemption. Formerly called the President's Award, the Shining Star recognizes a member’s tireless service to the association, and its recipient is selected by AAMA's staff.

Sureshot Redemption is a division of Ontario, CA-based The Folland Group, which supplies retail products and mass merchandising services for the location-based entertainment industry. Doyle serves the company in a sales and marketing capacity.
