Allstar Vending, flat vending, bulk vending POINTE-CLAIRE, QC, Canada -- Matching the right license with novelty vending is Allstar's specialty, and the supplier shows no signs of slowing down its branding effort. Allstar Vending is now offering vendable stickers celebrating the popular "Duck Dynasty" series from A&E Networks. The rectangular stickers, which can vend for 50¢ and up, feature all the Duck Dynasty characters and logotypes.

Allstar vice-president Sharon Shlien reports that the line began shipping on Monday. There are 12 designs in the first series.

The Duck Dynasty reality series chronicles the Robertsons, who run a family business manufacturing traditional duck calls and other items of interest to hunters from their home in West Monroe, LA. Now in its fourth season, the show has set ratings records for both A&E and cable television as a whole. The fourth season premiere attracted 11.8 million viewers, which made it the most-watched nonfiction cable telecast to date.

Addressing the interest in duck calls created by the popular program, Allstar also has introduced its own Beak Blaster, a plastic duck call (or whistle) packed in 2" capsules for vending through bulk machines at 50¢. The display card was inspired by Duck Dynasty, and Shlien reports that the first production run sold out in two weeks.

Interest in the Duck Dynasty sticker line is intense, Shlien said, with three-quarters of the initial print run pre-ordered. "This will be one of the biggest sellers of the year," she predicted. "I think this will be a huge hit in vending. I'm not saying it will be the next Angry Birds, but I think it will be close."

The company's other recent introductions continue to sell well, the Allstar executive added. The licensed Trash Pack line, launched this spring, now includes stickers and tattoos; the first run of 2" capsuled toys has sold out. The third series of Trash Pack figurines is slated for debut in November, Shlien said, and orders are being taken now. New Trash Pack items for 1" and 2" capsule vending are presently in development. The theme is licensed from Moose Enterprise (Melbourne, Australia).

The Allstar vice-president reported that the Angry Birds flat-merchandise lines are still available and remain popular. The theme, based on the international hit game developed by Rovio Entertainment (Espoo, Finland) and licensed by Allstar, has become a "staple item" because of the universal recognition won by the game in 2010 and 2011. It remains a favorite of mobile-device users around the world.

Also in the works at Allstar are Pac-Man stickers and tattoos featuring the immortal energy-devouring Namco creature, and flat merchandise themed to Disney's new "Sofia the First" animated television series. Sofia the First is an extension of Disney's Princess franchise. "These are two great licenses we are excited to have," Shlien told VT.

Allstar Vending, which began as an operating company in 1989, offers a wide range of merchandise for bulk and flat vending machines, as well as equipment. It maintains a website at allstarvending.com.
