CARLSTADT, NJ -- Betson Enterprises said it plans to open a sales and service office in central Florida. The office, which will be the distributor's 12th, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011.
The move is expected to strengthen Betson's sales presence in the Southeast. In 2009, the distributor opened an office in Marietta, GA. Other distribution businesses have recently closed in that region. Greater Southern Distributing Co., which had played a leading role in amusements and vending since 1964, closed its Smyrna, GA, office in 2009. And Alabama's Birmingham Vending shut down its distribution business, which included an office in Orlando, FL. Today, Brady Distributing, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, maintains outlets in Orlando and Miami.
"The support we have received from the Southeastern operators has been overwhelming since we opened our office in Marietta, GA, and this move is a further commitment to the operators of that region," said Betson president Bob Geschine. "We see this as a win-win scenario for Raw Thrills and the other manufacturers we represent, and for the operator in the financial commitment we make to help them grow their business and manage their monthly cash flow."
Betson Enterprises, the nation's largest distributor of amusement and vending equipment, is a division of Carlstadt, NJ-based H. Betti Industries. The distributorship runs alongside other HBI divisions including Imperial International, a wholesaler of billiard accessories and related items, and Betson Imperial Parts & Service Co., a supplier of equipment parts, components and accessories to merchandise vendors, amusement operators and OEMs.
