MYRTLE BEACH, SC -- The organizers of the Atlantic Coast Exposition have announced initial plans for the innovative 2010 event. The 56th annual staging of the show is set for Oct. 14-16 at the Embassy Suites Hotel at Kingston Plantation here.

Cosponsored by the North Carolina Vending Association, South Carolina Vending Association and Virginia Automatic Merchandising Association, next year’s Atlantic Coast Exposition will feature an expanded six-hour education program, a 1-1/2-day maintenance training program, a Saturday morning awards breakfast and keynote address, along with a variety of lively social events that showgoers have come to expect.

"Plenty of sunshine and warm weather await, but without the summer crowds," the ACE planners pointed out. The new Embassy Suites Hotel location is large enough to accommodate the trade show, the education program and the afterhours events under one roof, providing a degree of cohesion not seen since the days of the Ocean Forest Hotel four decades ago.

The hotel is the hospitality anchor of Kingston Plantation, offering two restaurants and an ocean-front lounge, half a mile of private beach, a festive Caribbean-themed pool and water amusements complex and the Arcadian Shores Golf Course, all minutes away from the ever-expanding array of attractions offered by Myrtle Beach and the adjacent Grand Strand.

The Atlantic Coast Exposition grew out of a joint trade show organized by the North Carolina Vending Association and South Carolina Automatic Merchandising Association (now SCVA) in the mid-1950s. The event alternated between North and South Carolina until 1970. It subsequently added the Automatic Vending Association of Virginia (now VAMA) as a cosponsor. ACE is managed by IMI Association Executives (Morrisville, NC).

Additional information on the brand-new format for ACE 2010 will be published as details are finalized. Information is available by calling (919) 459-2077 (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Eastern Time). The show also maintains a website at atlanticcoastexpo.com.
