WEST CHESTER, PA -- Mars Drinks has added the Alterra Coffee brand to the line of filterpacks available for use in its single-cup Flavia machines.
Mars announced last April that it had purchased the global rights to the Alterra brand, which was founded in 1993 by three friends in Milwaukee who started roasting their own coffee after being unable to find a strong, full-flavored cup that met their demands. | SEE STORY
Today, Alterra operates a roasting facility and 12 cafés and kiosks throughout the Milwaukee-area. The coffee is now available outside the Midwest exclusively through the Flavia system.
"We searched far and wide to find a hard-working, full-flavored coffee to enhance our specialty offerings and we found it in Milwaukee, WI," said Martin Radvan, president of Mars Drinks. "Alterra is a beloved brand throughout the Midwest and an icon in the specialty coffee industry. We are thrilled to bring this high-quality brand to offices all over the country."
Alterra joins the diverse Flavia lineup of coffees, lattes, mochas and espresso-style drinks, along with Dove hot chocolate and specialty teas from The Bright Tea Co., a Mars brand created in collaboration with world-renowned tea expert Steve Smith.
Flavia's single-cup machines include the Creation 200, which is designed for locations with 15 to 49 people. It can prepare the full range of single-serve "Fresh Pack" Flavia coffees, teas and "indulgence drinks" including cappuccino, latte and espresso. | SEE STORY
