NEW YORK CITY -- Mobile Meteor's latest mobile phone application allows food trucks to let their fans know where they are at all times without relying exclusively on "tweeting" locations.
The Food Truck Tracker enables operators to update their location from their smartphones with the tap of a button. The software's map widget enables customers to find the location status of trucks on their websites, Mobile Meteor's site and a Facebook fan page on an easy-to-read map. When the truck is not on the streets, a "standby" image is displayed to let customers know it will be back soon. | VIEW DEMONSTRATION
The system works independently of Twitter, but can also send out an automatic tweet from the food truck's Twitter account each time its location is updated.
Customers who sign up for a Mobile Meteor website will get the Food Truck Tracker and map widget set up for free. The Mobile Meteor website gives operators the ability to display menus, images, blog feeds and contact information. It also integrates with Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare and other social media tools. | SEE STORY
