ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- Now available from Sega Amusements USA is Key Master, a prize-dispensing game previewed at last November's International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions show.

Key Master challenges the player to maneuver a remotely controlled arm carrying a key into a position from which the key can be inserted into one of a number of vertical lock-shaped cutouts. If the contestant's aim is true, the key then rotates like a cam to snag the "lock" and pulls it forward, dropping the prize into a bin for retrieval.

A joystick controls horizontal movement and a large button actuates vertical travel. There are three prize levels: minor, medium and major. Prizes hang on simple horizontal rods behind the "locks," for fast and easy restocking.

Key Master features an all-steel cabinet, fitted with a vending-style door lock to enhance security. The interior is brightly illuminated. The game stands 72.8" high and measures 38.8" wide x 37.2" deep. It can accommodate a range of payment systems from coin mechanisms and bill validators to card readers.

The company reports that since the IAAPA Attractions Expo it has tested the piece in Midwestern and West Coast movie theaters. "The earnings have been nothing short of spectacular," said Sega's Tom Keil. He reported that the machine has earned an average $900 a week in some movie theaters.

"Key Master is the type of street piece that operators have been asking Sega to make for years," added Sega Amusements USA president and chief operating officer Paul Williams.

Sega Amusements USA maintains a website at segaarcade.com.
