Dec. 13, 2004: Rowe Chief Executive Steps Down; Kraft Foodservice Promotes Paglia


GRAND RAPIDS, MI - J. Douglas Johnson announced his resignation as Rowe International Corp.'s president and chief executive effective Jan. 30, 2005. Jeff Martin, president of Harbour Group's entertainment companies, will oversee day-to-day operations until a new chief executive is named. Johnson was appointed to his position five years ago and came to Rowe from G.S. Blodgett Corp., a world leader in commercial appliances. During his five years at Rowe, Johnson guided the company through a Chapter 11 financial reorganization, sale to St. Louis-based Harbour Group and transformation into a technology-based digital jukebox concern with the launch of AMI Entertainment. As part of the restructuring process, Johnson divested Rowe's full-line vending manufacturing business, selling it Automatic Products international. "My tenure at Rowe has been one of the more interesting, challenging and rewarding periods of my business career," Johnson said. "The past five years have been highlighted by imposing financial issues and the emergence of a completely new technology. Now the company is entering an era of great expectations with the launch of AMI Entertainment. However, I do have other business interests and felt the company had reached a point where the time was right to make this decision." 



EAST HANOVER, NJ , Kraft has announced the promotion of Fred Paglia to vice-president sales and marketing for Kraft Foodservice. In his new position, Paglia takes on responsibility for Kraft's U.S. category marketing, in addition to his sales oversight responsibilities. A highly seasoned expert in the foodservice industry, Paglia has 18 years experience at both Kraft and Nabisco; he was promoted from the position of vice-president sales at Kraft. Separately, Joe Clark, Kraft's vice-president of foodservice for the "East Area," has been appointed vice-president of field sales, where he will oversee foodservice field sales and sales planning. Clark will be reporting to Paglia.
