WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Department of Energy is considering amending energy conservation standards for refrigerated beverage vending machines. It will hold a public meeting on June 20 and members of the National Automatic Merchandising Association's government affairs team will be attending. The meeting will be broadcast as a webinar.

On June 4, DOE published notification of the meeting and availability of a "framework document" that details the preliminary scope of the rulemaking and identifies several issues on which the department is particularly interested in receiving comments. The deadline for submitting written comments is July 19.

The public meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DOE Forrestal Building, Room 8E-089, 1000 Independence Ave., SW, Washington, DC. Those interested in attending can contact Brenda Edwards at (202) 586-2945 or Brenda.Edwards@ee.doe.gov.

Webinar "seats" can be reserved here.
