GUANGZHOU, China -- Chris Kelley has been appointed director the newly opened China office of Raw Thrills and Betson Enterprises. The videogame developer and distributor of coin-operated equipment opened the joint full-service facility in February to meet the growing demand of China's coin-op marketplace. | SEE STORY
Kelley will be responsible for the coordination of the activities in China, including maintaining and enhancing current business relationships while establishing a new customer base.
The San Antonio, TX, native studied abroad in Shanghai for a year during college in 1999 to learn Chinese; the native English speaker is fluent in Mandarin and Spanish. After graduating, he returned to China teach English and later started a consulting and relocation company, which he sold after three years and entered amusement industry.
In 2008, Kelley began producing and operating Incredible Technologies' Golden Tee Golf in China. He imported the kits from IT and had a factory in China that built and assembled the cabinets.
"With Chris' background in manufacturing, sourcing, logistics and translating, he will be a huge asset in our China location," said Betson executive vice-president Bob Boals, who played a key role in developing business in China. "We are very excited to have him on board and to have him address the needs of the rapidly growing Chinese coin-op marketplace."
Popular Raw Thrills titles sold in China include The Fast and the Furious Super Cars, H2Overdrive, Super Bikes, Guitar Hero Arcade, Terminator Salvation and Super Bikes 2.
Headquartered in Carlstadt, NJ, Betson Enterprises currently has 12 distribution offices nationwide.
