DAYTONA BEACH, FL. — Tom Britten, president of Britten Management Services (Tampa Bay, FL) will deliver an address on successful administration of foodservice and beverage vending contracts at the Florida Region annual conference of the National Association of Educational Procurement. Britten's presentation will address questions that frequently arise when requesting and evaluating proposals for contract service. These include types of contract and which type is best under specific circumstances; understanding a contractor's financial statements "and how far to stick your nose in," the relationship between commission levels and quality, the measurement of operational performance, and overseeing contractor accountabilities.
Britten is a veteran of the vending and foodservice industry, having held executive positions at The Macke Co., Service America and the Canteen unit of Compass Group North America. He has been active in the National Automatic Merchandising Association, receiving its Chairman's Award for legislative action, and has served on the boards of state vending associations in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Washington. He founded Britten Management Services LLC in 2003.
