HAWTHORNE, NY -- The New York State Automatic Vending Association will hold a dinner meeting at Tramonto's Restaurant in Hawthorne, NY (Westchester County), on Wednesday June 9. A board meeting begins at 3:30 p.m. and will be followed by hors d'oeuvres, cash bar and dinner at 5 p.m. Present and prospective members are invited.
NYSAVA board members and lobbyists will update operators on the status proposed state legislation threatening the industry, including a nondiet soda tax and repeal of the current 75¢ tax exemption for vending, along with the new calorie-disclosure law. (Read more about the soft drink proposal and tax exemption.) Separately, a guest speaker will share loss-prevention strategies for vendors.
The cost for dinner is $60 a person. Registration, which must be submitted by June 1, is available at nysava.org. Tramonto's is located at 27 Saw Mill River Rd. A limited number of rooms are reserved at the Comfort Inn, located across the street from the restaurant, at a rate of $130.
