PITTSBURGH -- Management Science Associates has named Karl E. Herleman vice-president of information technology strategy and innovation for its Information Management Solutions division. The MSA unit focuses on consumer goods and services.
Herleman comes to MSA from Miami Dade College, where he was chief information officer and IT vice-provost. He previously had been a vice-president and chief enterprise architect of the Strategic Technologies Group at Garner Inc. (Stamford, CT). He holds leadership positions in several prominent technology associations and societies.
Founded in 1963, MSA designs, develops and brings to market information-based models, processes and systems for industry and government. Since its inception, the company has partnered with customers to identify areas in which innovative uses of data can foster growth or improve efficiency. MSA's data collection and analysis service for the vending industry, ProVen, has been refined and expanded over two decades, and now is based on weekly line-item sales reports from nearly 20,000 snack and confection machines.
