PORTSMOUTH, VA -- Massimo Zanetti Beverage USA is rolling out a single-cup portion-pack brewing system for the workplace refreshment services market. The OC System features a proprietary capsule that works with a brewer engineered by La San Marco (Gradisca D'Isonzo, Italy), well-known for its commercial espresso machines.
The Zanetti organization pointed out that single-cup brewers could improve employee satisfaction with the coffee available to them in their places of work.
The company was formed by Massimo Zanetti, the founder and owner of Segafredo Zanetti Coffee Group (Bologna, Italy), who acquired Sara Lee Corp.'s portfolio of famous U.S. coffee brands late in 2005.
Coffees initially available for the OC System include three popular brands representing a spectrum of coffee styles and types. They are Segafredo Zanetti Fine Coffees, Chock full o'Nuts and Kauai Coffee, all packaged in the novel Zanetti capsules. These only work with the OC System and are available exclusively through office coffee service. Each capsule is protected by a stay-fresh packet that not only seals in freshness and preserves flavor, but releases "the difference you can smell" when the capsule is removed for use.
The La San Marco brewer is engineered with pre-infusion and pulse brewing technology for optimal extraction and flavor development. The capsule is designed to facilitate full saturation of the grounds bed, for even extraction and enhanced flavor. Four volume sizes can be brewed: four, six, eight and 10 fluid ounces.
