DAYTONA BEACH, FL -- A programmer for Bob's Space Racers faces possible felony charges for deliberately bugging 450 of the company's games with computer viruses, according to law enforcement here.

Police said the suspect was simultaneously launching his own game manufacturing concern in competition with his employer.

Press outlets quoted Bob Space Racer's CFO Mike Lane as saying damages exceeded $100,000. The charge was reported by the United Press International and the Daytona Beach News-Journal. | SEE UPI STORY

Bob's principals were traveling in the Far East and unavailable for comment at presstime.

The maker of the classic Whac-a-Mole hammer game first alerted police to the situation last October. An undercover investigation followed.
