BATON ROUGE, LA -- Gov. Bobby Jindal has vetoed two bills -- SB 362 and SB 365 -- claiming they would deregulate the state's location-based video poker industry.

Jindal said both measures would have allowed many truckstops to keep operating pokers without the necessity of operating a restaurant on their premises. The laws also would have softened the current requirement linking the number of permissible pokers in truckstops to volume of gasoline sold in the past year.

At least one of the measures was opposed by the Louisiana Family Forum.
