LAS VEGAS -- The ultra-hip Cosmopolitan Hotel here is scheduled to open a wedding chapel conveniently near the main entrance facing the Strip where passersby can view the goings on inside through full-length windows.
Ceremonies start for as low as $80 and happy couples need not worry if they have neglected to purchase a ring beforehand. The chapel will offer "eraser" wedding rings in bulk vending machines. There is also a photobooth for those who want to immortalize the moment.
The chapel, hotel officials point out, is not just for legally binding ceremonies. For a reasonable price, couples can indulge in a "faux wedding," vow renewals, commitment ceremonies and even pet weddings.
