BRISTOL, PA -- AMI Entertainment Network Inc. has released a spring update for its Ion and Force systems running on Megatouch touchscreen videogame terminals.
The 2010.5 software refreshes content on several classic Megatouch games. It adds new questions and puzzles to Trivia Whiz 2 and Mystery Phraze, and expands the picture library for Photo Hunt and Photo Pop. Megatouch's Penthouse suite also gets an update, adding new features to adult-oriented games.
Additional updates expand the language capabilities of some Megatouch games. Trivia Whiz 2, for instance, now supports Arabic, German, Finnish, Hungarian, Greek, Thai and simplified Chinese characters.
AMI creative director AJ Russo said version 2010.5 is the first Megatouch software release to be simultaneously available as a download or a kit for manual installation. "Connected operators won't have to wait for their kits to arrive, and then drive to the location to install," he explained. "Instead, they can simply select which machines to update automatically through the Megatouch operator website."
The update is free to operators running Megatouch 2010 software, a major release that rolled out last year (see story here). Also available to operators at no charge are AMI Access, a program that gives operators control of broadband-connected machines through a Web browser, and MegaNet Core. Read more about AMI Access.
