NORWOOD, MA (September 2007) — Crane Streamware has added another option to its popular “try before you buy” Test Drive offer, which gives operators the opportunity to experience the benefits of VendMax software before purchasing the suite (see VT, March).
Now offered under the program is a DEX Cash Audit demonstration, which test-tracks a vending operation’s cash accountability on one route for six weeks, using VendMax software and the Streamware handheld computer.
Streamware formally introduced Test Drive in April of this year, after extensive pilot-testing in 2006, to demonstrate how Streamware drives operators’ profitability through improved processes. The program launched with a single option: testing route efficiencies using all the tools VendMax offers, from item-level tracking and optimizing service schedules to pre-kitting.
An unexpected benefit to that test, however, was the DEX Cash Audit. Paul Tims of Imperial Vending (Tulsa, OK), who participated in the early Test Drive pilot program, recalled that, “We were tracking route efficiency, but I started to notice a huge improvement in cash accountability.”
Prior to the test, he said, the firm had been using meter-to-money reconciliation for route audit. Using the VendMax DEX features, Imperial was able to determine the precise dollar value that should be collected on each service and the level of change in each machine at the time of collection.
“It takes the changer flux out of the equation, which translates into tighter cash accountability” Tims applauded.
With those results, the DEX Cash Audit Test Drive was born. For only $4,000 to cover expenses, an operator can have VendMax installed for a six-week trial on a single “DEXable” route. There is no obligation to purchase VendMax at the end of the trial, even if Streamware meets all of the agreed-upon results.
“This is a complete customer satisfaction program,” said Streamware vice-president of sales Damien Moroney. “Of course, we hope operators see the value of installing VendMax throughout their operations after a successful Test Drive, but there is absolutely no requirement.”
Streamware is a pioneer in the application of DEX technology to vending. Today VendMax’s cash accountability system organizes audit data into six distinct fields – not simply a cash meter reading – for greatly enhanced accuracy.
Moroney added that Streamware’s original Route Efficiency Test Drive still is available, now at a cost of $6,000 for a 12-week trial. Again, there is no commitment to purchase.
