CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association has announced that NFL hall-of-famer and former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka will host the industry awards ceremony at the inaugural One Show this spring. Nominations are now being accepted for the awards, which recognize individuals and companies for outstanding accomplishments and consistent support of the vending, food and coffee services industries.
One Show takes place April 28-30 at Chicago's McCormick Place, and the awards ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 29, at 4:30 p.m. on the One Show Center Stage. Immediately following the ceremony, there will be a special celebration honoring the award-winners, including a meet-and-greet with Ditka and a tasting of his lineup of fine wines.
The association is currently accepting nominations for awards through Feb. 1 in the following categories: Vending Operator of the Year, Coffee Service Operator of the Year, Allied Member of the Year-Vending, Allied Member of the Year-Coffee and Industry Person of the Year.
Candidates must be NAMA members in good standing and demonstrate a history of leadership and service to their communities and to the industry through efforts with NAMA and state associations. They must be innovative, possess a willingness to expand conventional practices and consistent business standards in accordance with the NAMA Code of Ethics.
