NEW YORK CITY -- A Parsons School of Design graduate has designed a vending machine that collects and distributes recycled goods to patrons free of cost.

The Swap-o-Matic, invented by Lina Fenequito, issues accounts to patrons that are "credited" every time they add to the machine's inventory. They can then "spend" the credits on others' donated goods.

See L.A. Times story about the Swap-o-Matic here.
