CONWAY, AR –- Ernest Ray Wright, who worked in vending equipment sales for over four decades, died on Jan. 11 here. He was 68.

Wright spent the majority of his vending career at Polyvend Inc. (Conway, AR), and the remainder with Crane National Vendors, which acquired Polyvend in the late 1990s.

"Ernie was one of the most customer-focused individuals that I have had the privilege of working with," said Kevin Caid, a former colleague and vice-president of sales of Crane Merchandising Systems' Southeast and Western region. "During his 40-year industry career, he always strived to take care of his customers in a manner that created lasting friendships. Even today, following his retirement in 2005, I still have customers asking about him throughout the U.S. He was truly an industry pioneer who will be deeply missed by his family and industry friends."

Wright is survived by his children Byron and Lance, his grandson Landon, and several brothers and sisters.
